I was hired as the company's graphic designer in 2002 designing their black and white newspaper ads. Now 6 years later I am the art director and the industry has changed so much in an adverting sense. Newspaper is now dead. We still shoot TV commercials but the rest is all web and
e-commerce. Adding flash animation to mirror a TV commercial, adding video and creating and editing a YouTube account is all crucial for generating traffic to the web. Even creating accounts with Craigs list or Ebay all play a role in traffic. Now these blogs have to be written to keep up.
The rules and laws change on the web but in todays economy its important to find ways to generate traffic via web over spending hundreds of thousands through print.
Keeping up with todays online marketing is key, you never know whats going to be the latest and greatest thing.
